Why Comics are Important to Medicine: A Workshop with Brian Fies Online
Brian Fies is an award-winning writer and cartoonist. He is very active in the international graphic medicine community and is best known for his graphic novels Mom’s Cancer, A Fire Story, Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow, and The Last Mechanical Monster. His work has earned him several honors, including the comics industry’s Eisner, Harvey, and Inkpot awards, as well as the American Astronautical Society’s Emme Award and a television Emmy Award.
During this session, Brian will discuss how comics are a unique and powerful channel for sharing health information and telling stories. He will also lead participants through a fun, low-stress, and embarrassment-free drawing activity. Register below to receive the Zoom link and password.
